Cookie Notice
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This Cookie Notice explains how GolemType ("Golem", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (golemtype.com) and in our account dashboard.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language or login session. Similar technologies (like localStorage and sessionStorage) work the same way but store data only on your device and are not sent with every request.
2. What we use them for
Golem uses a small set of first-party cookies. We do not use third-party tracking cookies on this website.
- Authentication: When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) stores a session token in your browser's localStorage. Without it you would have to log in again on every page.
- Language preference: We save your selected language (English / Spanish) in localStorage under the key
golem-langso the site loads in your language next time. - Attribution: On your first visit we store a first-party cookie named
golem_attrthat remembers how you found us (for example, a campaign tag in the link you clicked, the site that referred you, and the first page you landed on). It lives for 90 days, contains no personal data on its own, and is only ever read by us. If you later create an account, we link that first visit to your account so we know which channels bring users to Golem. We never share it with third parties or use it to track you across other sites. - Checkout (Creem): When you upgrade, our payment provider Creem sets its own cookies on its checkout domain to prevent fraud and process payments. These are governed by Creem's own policies.
3. What we do NOT use
- No third-party analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Mixpanel).
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels.
If that ever changes, we will update this page and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.
4. Managing cookies
You can clear cookies and localStorage at any time from your browser settings, or block cookies entirely: the site keeps working, though you will be signed out, your language preference will reset, and the golem_attr attribution cookie will be removed (which is fine — it only affects our own statistics, never your experience).
